JH Serene’s journey began in Japan, a country known for seniors aging in style. Inspired by them, we set out to uncover how they age so elegantly. We were able to uncover a key secret in their everyday routines: persimmon tannin, a powerful deodorizing agent long used in Japanese skincare. Scientifically proven to neutralize body odors and nourish the skin, this ingredient became the foundation of our soap. We brought this tradition to the U.S., creating a product that refreshes and revitalizes, helping you feel vibrant and confident, no matter your age. How It’s Made
The Process
Along with premium, handselected ingredients, we use a special Japanese technique called thekama-daki (釜焚き製法) method to create our soap. Kama in Japanese means “cast iron pot,”and daki refers to the act of using the pot to heat and create things using the pot.What’s the difference between kamadaki soap and regular soap?Handcrafted with a focus on quality:The kamadaki method is a specialized method to create soap. The process involves heatingfatty acids to controlled temperatures and adding sodium hydroxide to trigger a saponificationreaction. The soap is then molded and naturally airdried for about 60 days. During this period,each soap piece is handpolished repeatedly until it becomes the final product. Unlike othermethods of creating soap that can compromise the quality of the ingredients through rigorousmixing or high heat, the kamadaki method of sopmaking is focused on the quality of the endproduct.A treasure trove of premium ingredients:Unlike regular, transparent soaps, which often consist of about 95% cleansing agents that canstrip your skin of its natural oils and leave it feeling dry, kamadaki soap uses a specializedcreation method to deliver a more nourishing experience. The soap base is made of about 30%-40% glycerin and sugars, which help to lock in moisture and leave your skin feeling soft andsmooth. Kamadaki soap is also created mainly of topquality, plantbased fatty acidsprimarilyfrom palm oilas the key ingredient, resulting in a soap that is pure and translucent, withminimal impurities.

How It Made
A Meticulous Crafting ProcessEach soap bar is carefully handmade in Japan. Here’s how our soap comes to life:Ingredient Mixing: We start by heating our carefully selected premium ingredients to initiate theneutralization (saponification) reaction.
- Cooling and Solidifying: The mixture is poured into molds or pipes, cooled, and solidified to formthe soap base.
- First Polishing (After about 10 days): Each piece is polished carefully after being immersed inhot water to smooth the surface.
- Cutting: Once solidified, the soap is removed from the mold and cut into individual pieces usingpiano wire for a precise, clean cut.
- Shaping: Right after the first polishing, the soap is molded into its final form.Second Polishing (After about 50 days): Another round of polishing takes place, with each soappiece immersed in hot water once again to further refine its texture.
- Final Shaping: The soap undergoes another shaping process immediately after the secondpolishing, ensuring it maintains its perfect form.
- Final Polishing: Each piece is given a final polish and undergoes a detailed inspection to ensureit meets our high standards.
- Inspection and Packaging: After a second round of inspections, the soap is packaged andwrapped, ready for you to enjoy!
